Fail

I really fail in updating. THIS SHOULD STOP. TODAY!

I'm getting the itch here in the Netherlands and really want to travel again. Stockholm might be the next destination. Here some pictures of some of my last travels to Copenhagen & Malmö, Valencia & Barcelona and Lisbon & Aveiro. Yes, I always like to visit more than one place at the time.

Street art in Lisbon

I came along these pictures of very cool and creative street art in Lisbon done by Crono.
Check his personal site for some more of this. Very impressive!

Crono:

“We like to think that in former times, hundreds of years ago, Space and Time enjoyed relevance and power in a similar way. Space was as mysterious and unregulated as Time.”

Goodbyes

I have to say goodbye a lot lately. And if there is one thing I hate it is, you could guess, saying goodbye. Said it to everybody and everything that made this year special. But the good thing is that I'm having holidays right now (fuckyeah) and hopefully I will meet a lot of new people again.
Maybe I need to make plans, a list of stuff I really want to do during these free months. So I won't be bored. If you're interested in my 'thrilling' life stay tuned...

For now a picture I took some weeks ago in Almere. Love the reflection and angles of the building and the FLAT horizon. Makes me feel at home.

Apple

In Amsterdam they're renovating a lot. The area around central station doesn't look nice and cosy at all. So the foundation of Museum Night came up with the idea to display all different kinds of artwork around the central station. All inspired by museums of Amsterdam. This open air exhibition will have 26,000 visitors on daily basis.

One of my favourite displayed pieces of the art is Apple Polisher Sweatshop from Nivard Thoes and Ma Yan Yun.

Ricardo Bofill's Cement Factory in Barcelona

This is such an amazing project. In 1973 architect Ricardo Bofill discovered a cement factory in his hometown Barcelona. Without any hesitation he decided to turn this building into his office.
After two years of working on the project it's also a home and exhibition space. Maybe I can live with him in this beautiful building when I move to Barcelona. Space enough I suppose.

"The factory is a magic place which strange atmosphere is difficult to be perceived by a profane eye. I like the life to be perfectly programmed here, ritualised, in total contrast with my turbulent nomad life." – Ricardo Bofill

Crystal Fighters and Amsterdam

I'm totally blown away by the acoustic and spanish(!) version of xtatic truth. Yes, copenhagen's soundtrack.
I went to Amsterdam with Ilse and strolled around a bit, went for a little shopping and to see Ryan McGinley's pictures in real life. (Maybe more about this later.)
While trying on some dresses I noticed the guy in the shop was playing Crystal Fighters. I'm into their music, but was not a real fan. Well, after hearing the acoustic version of xtatic truth in spanish I definately am. I almost ran out of the fitting room half naked to ask the guy where I could find the song. I knew it was not on the original album. And indeed, it was a bonus track.
This version will be amsterdam's soundtrack from now on I guess. I'm still looking for a download of it. Now you can listen to this wonderful piece of art, cause that's what it is in my opinion, by clicking here.

Copenhagen soundtrack

Chrystal Fighters - Xtatic Truth

I heard this song one year and a half ago in Copenhagen. Couldn't get it out of my head and finally found it half a year ago. It's the city's soundtrack.

Picture time

Yes, it's me on the suniest and cosiest balcony of Groningen. Please don't mind my just-came-out-of-bed-face and -outfit.

Groningen, je t'aime

I was about to buy a train ticket to Paris for this weekend. But there were of course some problems with time and money. I'm still a poor 'working' student... I'm in Groningen instead. Well, Groningen is not located in France and doesn't have a 'Tour Eiffel', but it's also verrry nize. A French song anyway:

I AMsterdam.

I'm wondering how Amsterdam is doing and I guess I should just visit the city and find out. Hopefully the weather tomorrow will be as sweet as it was today.
AND, I really want to see another exhibition done by Anton Corbijn. His exhibition called 'Inwards and Onwards' will be shown in FOAM.
